1. Where are you located?
Day Surgery Center is located in Kanawha City just off MacCorkle Avenue between the 35th Street Bridge and The Kanawha Mall.

2. How long will I be at Day Surgery Center?
The length of your stay depends on the procedure you are having performed. The average stay at our facility is between 1 ½ to 2 hours.

3. Can I eat or drink before my surgery?
Please do not eat or drink anything after 12:00 a.m. the day of your procedure.

4. Can I drive myself home after my surgery?
If you are having a procedure that will require anesthesia, you must have an escort with you the day of your surgery. We ask that your escort remain in the waiting area while you are in surgery. Once your procedure is completed, our staff will notify your escort. You should not drive for 24-48 hours after receiving anesthesia.

5. Which insurance plans does Day Surgery Center accept?
At Day Surgery Center, we participate with most major private insurance carriers as well as Medicare, Medicaid and Workers’ Compensation. 6. How do I make an appointment?
Your surgery will be scheduled through your surgeon’s office. You must see a surgeon to obtain an appointment for surgery. If you do not have a surgeon, refer to the list provided of our medical staff.

7. How do I arrange payment?
It is your responsibility to know your insurance benefits. However, as a courtesy, a representative from Day Surgery Center will attempt to contact your insurance company for an overview of your benefits as they relate to your procedure. The Day Surgery Center rep will then contact you with this information and an estimated amount for which you will be liable based upon the information obtained from your insurance company. It is our policy to collect this amount from you the day of your procedure. If you are unable to pay the estimated amount due the day of the procedure, we will be happy to speak with you in advance about payment arrangements.
